“I moved into the YMCA in April 2016 as I was homeless. I thought it would be a dump but when I got there it was a lovely place and I had my own room as well and the staff were pucker. They would always help me or listen to me if I needed someone to talk to, even if they were busy, which made me feel like I meant something.
I have lived by myself for the first time at the YMCA. I never thought I would be able to as I had never done anything for myself before. The staff showed me how to do some things and eventually I could do things for myself.
I’ve now got my own flat and hope to go into the army. I would like to say a big thank you to all the staff at the YMCA for supporting me to do this.”
